End of week 23

Progress with reinstatement around Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Posted by: Network Improvements Team on 15 March 2021 09:49

The footpath at the new junction has had its base course laid, and all of the infrastructure access chambers have also been set. This will allow for future maintenance of the traffic lights and other infrastructure that is under the footway. The final step for the footpath will be the surface course, which will make the covers flush leaving a smooth surface to walk on.

Before the full reinstatement can happen in the carriageway, the orange street lighting ducting is also being laid, allowing an electrical feed in the new location of the street lights.

Week 23 Lighting Ducting

South of the Household Waste Recycling Centre, progress has been made laying the new drainage system. This will eventually get connected to the new system further north in the scheme which has already been installed, improving the overall capacity of drainage.
