West Berkshire Council granted an Injunction for unauthorised development at Lawrences Lane, Thatcham
On Wednesday evening (18 August) West Berkshire District Council was granted an Injunction to prevent further unauthorised development activity taking place at Lawrences Lane in Thatcham ("the Land"), pending a full hearing due to take place on 31 August.
We are aware of the development that started over the weekend at Lawrences Lane in Thatcham. Investigation of the matter began over the weekend and continues to be explored due to the development occurring without the benefit of a properly considered planning application.
We are shocked and saddened that a fire has destroyed the old football ground clubhouse at Faraday Road over the weekend, despite the Council having taken all reasonable steps to ensure that the site was kept secure.
A further two local independent businesses have now benefited from West Berkshire Council's Welcome Back Business Grants Scheme, in which £140,000 has been set aside for projects to support the district's high streets, shopping areas and visitor economy to re-open successfully this summer.
