Clinical household waste

Our clinical waste collection service for use by people receiving medical treatment at home.

Clinical waste can include items such as bandages, dressings and other disposable medical items. It is important that your clinical waste is not put in your normal rubbish bin.

We offer a free collection service for clinical waste which is usually arranged by your GP, hospital, health visitor or district nurse.

How we collect clinical waste

Your GP or health professional will first need to request a clinical waste collection from our waste team.

For needles or syringes (sharps), we will provide you with a box.

We will collect the box once it is full. Please contact Customer Services, to arrange collection and the delivery of a new box. To ensure collection the following week, you must contact us by Friday.

For other waste (such as bandages and dressings), we will provide you with orange sacks.

These will be collected every Wednesday. If a bank holiday falls on a Wednesday, we will contact you to let you know alternative collection arrangements.
