New regional recruitment hub launches
We are pleased to announce that today (8 July) we are joining 19 other local authorities in launching a new regional fostering recruitment hub.
Local Authority Fostering South East is a collaborative partnership of 20 local authorities from across the region with a shared common goal - to recruit and support more amazing foster carers to provide safe, loving, and local homes for children in our communities.
Funded by the Department for Education (DfE), the South East is the largest of nine regions taking part in this pilot project, in response to the urgent need for more foster carers across the country.
This new virtual hub brings together the collective expertise and resources of local authorities across the region, ensuring prospective foster carers have access to a centralised platform for initial enquiries and support, right from the start of their fostering journey.
As a region, we will also be running new marketing campaigns to raise awareness of this unique role and encourage more people to take the next step and become a foster carer with their local council. In doing so they will benefit from comprehensive local training, generous financial assistance, and ongoing support from a non-profit organisation.
If you're interested in becoming a foster carer, or would like some more information about the regional hub, please visit the Local Authority Fostering South East website or follow Local Authority Fostering South East on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
You can also contact the hub directly and speak to our friendly recruitment team by calling 0300 131 2797.
