Report a Broken Streetlight
Tell us about streetlights that have stopped working, are flickering or are on during the day.
Please take note of the following guidance before you report a broken streetlight.
The council is responsible for around 13,000 street lights in our district, however there are also many street lights which are not owned and maintained by us. If the street light you want to report does not appear on our online map, it is likely that it is owned by another organisation such as a Parish or Town Council or a Housing Association. In these instances, the fault will need to be reported directly to them. Our online map has information regarding the Parish and Town Council owned street lights and you can find Parish/Town Council contact details here.
We will always try to repair any street lighting fault on the first visit, however it may take longer if:
- there is a fault with the power supply, which requires attendance by Scottish and Southern Energy Networks
- parts have to be ordered
- additional traffic management is required, such as temporary traffic signals or road closure
Before you start
