Practitioners Toolkit for SEND in the Early Years
Welcome to the Practitioners Toolkit for SEND in the Early Years. If you think a child in your setting is presenting with SEND, this site contains advice, guidance, resources and pathways for services set out by need. This toolkit, and many of the resources within it, have been co-produced with local early years settings and partners.
A note on the Graduated Approach to meeting need: Practitioners working with children and families in West Berkshire should apply a Graduated Approach when identifying SEND and meeting need. This means that settings should consider what support should be put in place for children as Ordinarily Available Provision before looking to more Specialist services for support. Ordinarily Available Provision has been separated into "Quality First Teaching" and "Supported" categories for your reference.
