Missed rubbish or recycling collection

Collection updates

We were unable to complete the following collections today (Thursday 27 March):

Food Recycling - UNNAMED ROAD FROM CHILD BEALE TO CHURCH LANE RG8 - Contractors blocking access

Please leave your food caddies out at the kerbside and we will reattempt collection tomorrow morning (Friday 28 March)

Why your bin or recycling container may not have been collected

We may not have collected your bin/recycling container due to one of the following:

  • containers not presented by 6am on your collection day
  • bins/containers not in the right place for collection
  • bins/containers being overfilled or too heavy
  • items placed in the wrong containers (contamination)
  • incorrect/unrecognisable bin or recycling container presented

If we have not collected your bin/recycling container due to one of the reasons above, the crew will have left a bin hanger explaining why. You can find more information about what we collect for recycling on our recycling collection page

If your bin/recycling container has not been taken because it was overfilled, too heavy or if your waste was not in a suitable bin or container, please arrange to take this to your nearest recycling centre.

Report a missed collection

Before reporting a missed collection, please check:

  • our service status above, in case there are any known issues affecting the service
  • that it is your scheduled collection day
  • the list of reasons why your bin/recycling container may not have been collected (above) and whether you have been left a bin hanger with an explanation by the collection crew

Report a missed collection using our online contact form.

You must report missed food waste collections within two working days. All other collections must be reported within five working days of your scheduled collection.

We will investigate your report and if we agree that we have missed your collection, we will return to collect your rubbish/recycling. If there's an issue with your bin or recycling container due to contamination, you will need to address the contamination before your next collection.
