Opening times
Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays): 11am to 6pm.
Weekends and bank holidays: 9am to 6pm.
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day: both HWRCs are closed.
Site restrictions
Both our recycling centres cannot accept or permit entry to:
- commercial, trade or business waste
- visits on foot from members of the public
- vehicles without a valid permit
- vehicles with a combined length longer than 8.2m at Newtown Road and 8.8m at Padworth

Asbestos
Newtown Road recycling centre can accept cement-bonded asbestos for disposal by appointment only. Before making an appointment please read our

Before you visit the recycling centre, please:
- check travel times and any restrictions in place
- make sure you have registered for a permit (residents only, not including temporary one day pass)
- make sure you have booked an appointment and have received your booking confirmation email
- if you can't make your appointment, cancel or reschedule it via the link at the top of you confirmation email
- if you are visiting in a hire van or a van without a commercial type vehicle permit, you must complete a waste declaration form before your visit
