A pass for those who are of eligible age that entitles the holder to concessionary travel on local buses off peak in England.

  1. Eligibility for a National Bus Pass
    1. If you were born before 06 August 1954 you are now eligible to receive your National Off-Peak Bus Pass. If you were born on or after 06 August 1954, the eligible age for both women and men is the state pensionable age of a woman. To check your state pensionable age see the calculator on GOV.UK or contact Concessionary Fares Team. The earliest you can apply for your bus pass is up to ten days prior to your eligible age.
  2. Proof of eligibility required
    1. To make an application you will need to meet the eligability requirements and also be required to upload the following:

      A passport standard photograph

      Proof of residence (Less than a year old)


      - Council Tax Bill
      - Bank Statement
      - Utility Bill
      - Driving Licence

      Proof of age


      - Passport
      - Pension Entitlement Letter
      - Birth Certificate (if name unchanged)
      - Driving Licence
      - NHS Medical Card
      - Pension Letter

      A driving licence can be used as proof of age or proof of residence, but not both.
