Find childcare: out of school clubs
Search the Family Information Service
An out of school club (or wrap around care) provides before and/or after school childcare for school aged children. The school or club is required to register with Ofsted if they provide care for children under 8 years of age, for more than two hours per day and more than 6 days per year.
Out of school clubs can be registered under the school's registration and running on the school site, or they can be privately run in community centres or village halls.
You may choose for your child to be included in a mainstream after school club or you may prefer to consider a more specialist environment like the outreach run by Mencap.
Some schools offer homework clubs after school where children can get help with their homework.
You may be entitled to help with childcare costs.
You can find help and advice for choosing the right childcare for you on the Childcare choices website and useful guides from Coram Family and Childcare.
