Floral Way and Falmouth Way - Thatcham

West Berkshire Council is excited to announce a new highway improvement scheme for Floral Way to Peachey Drive Park, designed to enhance sustainable travel and support our commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency (Priority 3.11 'More opportunities for Active Travel in the district').

Please see the scheme drawing:  Icon for pdf Floral Way Scheme Proposals [4MB] .

The proposal will improve the cycle route from Floral Way to Peachey Drive Park by installing a new crossing for the A4 (removing the island,) removing the barriers along the cycle route and cutting back the vegetation which has overgrown on the route. This inclusive design encourages active travel, reduces reliance on cars, and promotes healthier lifestyles for local residents and students of the local primary school.

We are looking to have the works completed in early 2026.

Public engagement and feedback are very important to us. Please take a look at the Floral Way scheme proposals.

If you have any comments, please email projects@westberks.gov.uk or telephone 01635 551111 and ask for the Projects team in Highways Network Management.
