Other Ceremonies - Renewal of Vows, Celebratory and Baby Namings
Renewal of Vows and Celebratory Ceremonies
A renewal of vows ceremony gives couples who are already married or in a civil partnership the opportunity to reaffirm their relationship in front of their loved ones and to celebrate the time they have already spent together. This could be to mark a special date or anniversary. Or perhaps you have recently been married abroad or under circumstances where you were not able to invite everybody, and would like the opportunity to celebrate your commitment to each other with your family and friends. These ceremonies have no legal status, but you are able to give promises to each other, to have readings and, if you wish, to exchange rings. During the ceremony the registrar will acknowledge your marriage or civil partnership, therefore it is important that all of your guests know this beforehand.
Baby Naming and Welcoming Ceremonies
These are not legal ceremonies but are a perfect way to celebrate the birth of a new baby or perhaps to welcome an adopted child into your family, giving you the opportunity to express your commitment in a way that is very personal and special to you. If you wish, you can elect supporting adults who will help you with the upbringing of the child and you may want to include the presentation of a gift.
All of these ceremonies can take place at Shaw House, one of our licensed venues, or an appropriate venue of your choosing and a commemorative certificate will be presented to you on the day, to mark the occasion.
