Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment
The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) describes the needs for the West Berkshire's residents and considers current provision of pharmaceutical services to assess whether they meet those needs. It also identifies any gaps in service provision.
PNAs are used by NHS England to make decisions on which NHS-funded services need to be provided by local community pharmacies. They may also be used by bodies involved in commissioning local health services to identify gaps in relation to local priorities.
Due to the Covid pandemic, local authorities have been given additional time to update their PNAs. The new version is due to be published by October 2022.
