Background

Public Access for Planning (West Berkshire Council's Planning Portal) is our online system you can use to follow the progress of a planning application, make a comment, view application documentation (including plans), measure plans, search a weekly list of applications and decisions, view historic applications, and use the map function.

You can also subscribe to receive notifications by email for applications that you are tracking or are the subject of saved searches or have been modified.

Information on how to search for and comment on a planning application is published on our webpage.

What we'd like to find out

Your feedback will help us understand what matters most to users and whether they can find the information they need, or if some groups face barriers.

We'd like to know if:

  • you were aware of the Planning Public Access service (West Berkshire Council's Planning Portal) before this survey
  • you use the service, and if so, do you find it easy to navigate
  • you have any suggestions for improvements to the service

We're also asking about neighbour notification letters, which were reintroduced in 2023. We'd like to know if the wording in the letter is clear, and whether receiving one has prompted you to comment on a planning application.

How to take part

If you'd like to complete our survey, please click the green 'Take Part' button below. This will open a new page for our survey, which should take about five minutes to complete.

What happens next

Your feedback will help us to monitor and improve the clarity and accessibility our service so people can understand planning proposals more easily, which supports better comments, fewer misunderstandings and stronger public engagement. A summary of the responses we receive will be published on this page.
