The role of a West Berkshire Directory champion is to act as an informal ambassador to:
- promote the Directory - by sharing information through your networks, communication channels, through community groups, or by adding a link to your website.
- Support users - help people you support to use the Directory or print search results. This is especially important for our residents who don't have digital access.
The champion scheme is new and will help us reach all residents, but especially isolated groups.
Champions will be uniquely placed in the community to help share important information with those who might not otherwise access this information.
After you, or the team in your organisation, are comfortable with signing up for being a champion, we will also ask your permission to add your organisation's details to a printed leaflet for residents without digital access so they know they can contact you for help. This is not a condition of being a champion.
Any organisation can be West Berkshire Directory champions, whether you are in contact with hundreds of people or have small number of close contacts. The role is entirely flexible and allows you to share information that is most important to you and your networks whenever and wherever you want.

West Berkshire Directory
In return we can offer:
- to you/your group/your organisation 'show around/training' on how to use the Directory and search on it; this can be offered online or in person, or you can request a link to a pre-recorded video
- quarterly email newsletter about any new features on the Directory, and highlight areas/groups on there that you may wish to hear about
- additionally, you can become a member of our Directory User Group and give us feedback about how the Directory works, what you like about it, and what could be improved; we can then work with our Directory provider to get it working at it's optimum for our residents and professionals using it.
