Bidding for Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds

Results of CIL bid process for 2024/25

West Berkshire Council has allocated £500k to local communities in the latest round of funding from our Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money, a charge we receive from new developments, to go towards infrastructure.

In July, we asked communities to bid for some of this income and it has been great to see the excellent ideas and projects that came through for using CIL funding.

Basildon

Churches Conservation Trust

  • Replace the nave roof at St Bartholomew's Church (used for community, cultural and heritage events)
  • Total cost £184k

Bucklebury

Bucklebury Memorial Hall

  • Improve disabled facilities and access, including upgrading conveniences
  • Total cost £10k

Burghfield

Burghfield Parish Council

  • Skate park replacement

East Garston

Trustees of East Garston Village Hall

  • Add more solar panels to the roof of the village hall and install new inverter to reduce carbon footprint
