In November, we were pleased to launch our Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed Mental Health Project. This pilot project will support 10 schools in developing their relational and inclusive practice, policies and procedures. This will help more West Berkshire children feel safe, secure and more comfortable in their schools. These feelings underpin pro-social, positive behaviours and the longer-term goal for this project is to develop our cross-county approach to inclusion, at both a school and wider local authority level.

There is a lot of input for this project from the schools themselves. alongside our West Berkshire delivery team. Birmingham Newman University are providing the academic backbone. Flourish (formerly AC Education) are providing school training and Consultant Tony Clifford and his team of mentors are providing implementation support to our participating schools. There are lots of threads within this project, all of which will knit together to help shape and guide the inclusive offer within our schools and services.

We have a range of schools taking part - secondaries, large and small primaries, in both urban and rural settings, so there will be a range of experiences for us to share, develop and learn from.

The initial audits for each of the schools are underway, and we've already highlighted lots of strong inclusive practice, as well as areas that we hope to support through this exciting work.

We will share more news as the project progresses.
