Join us for the next Health Scrutiny Committee meeting.
Residents are invited to submit questions for the next Health Scrutiny Committee. Questions should be related to topics on the agenda.
The next meeting will focus on:
- Eastfield House surgery proposed relocation - the surgery is consulting on moving from St Johns Road in Newbury to a new medical centre south of Newbury College.
- Access to primary care, making appointments, digital services, care navigation and being kept informed.
- All Age Continuing Care assessments
Colleagues from the NHS and West Berkshire Council will be discussing these topics and answering questions from Committee Members.
Residents can do so by emailing them to Executivecycle@westberks.gov.uk by 1 December 2024, these questions then may be answered during the meeting.
The meeting will be held at 1.30pm on Tuesday 10 December 2024 in the Council Chamber at our Market Street offices. Each meeting will be streamed live on the Council's YouTube channel for residents wanting to follow the meeting as it happens or later at their convenience. You can find out more information on our website.
Councillor Martha Vickers said: "the aim of scrutiny is to help improve health services in the local community and fulfils the statutory health scrutiny functions in relation to services provided for residents.
"Topics are kept under review, which improves transparency of health services for residents of West Berkshire. Past topics include: Adult Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Diabetes."
The Health Scrutiny committee would also like residents to suggest topics of interest for future meetings, through a user-friendly form available online, emphasising the importance of community input in shaping the health services that affect their lives.
